Mount Meru

Mount Meru is the second highest Mountain in Tanzania rising up to 4,562m/14,968ft above sea level. The mountain located north of Arusha city. The mountain is also considered the fifth highest in Africa. There is only one route to hike this mountain which can be attempted for three days but more recommended as a 4 days trek for better acclimatization. Most people refer to this mountain as the “warm-up” to climb Mount Kilimanjaro but Meru has less snow formed at the Volcano eruption.

The mountain is found within Arusha national park, which makes it a must to be accompanied by park rangers due to animals like Buffalos, Zebra that living within the park.
