Jozani forest is found within the Jozani-Chwaka Bay national park, which is the only National park in Zanzibar. In this trip you will get a chance to see the other side of Zanzibar, apart from seeing beautiful white sand beaches, clear water ocean and historical palaces, Zanzibar also has a green thick rainforest. The park is very small, around 50 square kilometers, found in the South East part of Zanzibar, just a short ride from Paje village. One of the famous trips in Zanzibar, starting from Fumba village, south west to Stone Town. From Prison Island we will sail on a straight line south, to Nakupenda sand bank beach. “Nakupenda” means “I love you” in Swahili language, which describe properly the romantic atmosphere at this place. Nakupenda is a tiny island of made of white sound, surrounded by turquoise colored water. This is the perfect place to chill and relax, and swimming in the warm water around the island.

Form the spice farms we will move on to Mangapwani town, 20 kilometers north to Stone Town, where we will visit the caves. There are two unique caves which illustrates both sides of Zanzibar – history and nature. The first cave is Mangapwani Coral Cave, a natural cave in the coralline rock with a narrow entrance and a pool of fresh water inside. This cave has a lot of historical stories behind it and it is a spectacular sight. The other cave, Mangapwani Slave Chamber, located few kilometers north to the coral cave. It is a square-shaped cell that has been cut out of the coralline rock, with a roof on top. It used to be a place to store slaves, before resale in Zanzibar town or for plantation on the island.
